Anti Wrinkle Treatment
As we age, we start to notice wrinkle lines in our face, even when we are not making any facial expressions. These are caused by the repeated use of the facial muscles in a particular manner.
For example, just as a freshly ironed shirt will become severely creased at the elbow as a result of bending the arm, in a similar way, our facial lines form whenever we frown, squint or smile. This is the most common sign of ageing that patient’s endeavour to get treated.
Treatment involves temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles in specific areas using botulinum toxin, resulting in smoother lines and a more youthful appearance to the skin.
Our ethos is to use a ‘less is more’ approach to ensure that we enhance your natural beauty.

In the right hands, botulinum toxin is a very effective and safe treatment to cosmetically address facial wrinkles.
At Acton Town Dental Practice, risks will be discussed in depth at your consultation.
Immediately following your treatment, the injection site can be mildly tender and swollen, which usually subsides after 48 hours.
Side effects are rare, but occasionally, you may experience heaviness over the eyebrows, which can last for 2 to 3 weeks. There is a very low risk (1-2%) of brow ptosis (drooping of the eyebrow) or eyelid ptosis (drooping of the eyelid), which completely reverses with time. Allergy, headaches, nausea and flu-like symptoms is extremely rare. There is a possibility that side effects lead to a requirement of further treatment lasting several months.
Treatments are provided at dedicated clinics by fully qualified medical practitioners who are able to deal with complications. The risks reduce in qualified hands – our aim is to keep you safe.
It can take up to 7 days to see the full effects following treatment. We offer our patients a complimentary follow-up appointment after 2 weeks where we review and administer a ‘top up’ if it is required.
The effects of the treatment can last up to 6 months but can vary between 3 to 4 months based on the individual. Our practitioners are highly trained and have carried out numerous treatments on a variety of patients with different skin types. We endeavour to create personalised treatment plans that will be successful.
We offer this treatment after a face to face consultation with a medical practitioner. A bespoke quote will be given at the time of the consultation. Please contact us for more information.

Dermal Fillers
The main component of fillers is hyaluronic acid, a biosynthesized version of one of the body’s natural substances. The amount of hyaluronic acid produced significantly as we age; the skin becomes dryer, thinner and less supple, rendering it increasingly prone to wrinkling. Injecting fillers into the skin adds volume where the body’s hyaluronic acid has depleted.
